Introduction: Persistent left superior vena cava is a rare anatomic anomaly, found in 0.3-0.5% of the general population, and upto 12% of patients with a congenital cardiac anomaly. Typically found incidentally, familiarity with such an anomaly can help clinicians to avoid complications during placement of central lines. This report describes a case of a patient with persistent left superior vena cava detected after peripherally inserted central catheter insertion.
